Summit Tech Academy

Summit Technology Academy (STA) is located in Lees Summit, Missouri. STA has world class facilities, industry connections, hands on learning, broad career exposure and more!

Transportation is not provided. Students must be able to drive to Lee's Summit

Collegiate Nursing Academy

The Collegiate Nursing Academy is an option for students in their senior year of high school who are interested in medicine and have a desire to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). All participants will receive instruction from college-level faculty at William Jewell College for their required 75 hours of coursework and 100 hours of real-world clinical experience with teaching nurses at Liberty Hospital.

Program Requirements

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
A grade of B or higher in all science courses
Must be a Senior in the fall of 2026
Provide an official student disciplinary record from the school
Record of at least 95% attendance
Completed application and a signed agreement to abide by the expectations and responsibilities of the Collegiate Nursing Academy

CIPHER Cybersecurity Program

CIPHER (Cyber Internship Program for High School Education and Readiness) is a partnership between William Jewell College and LPS. This program is designed to provide high school students with multiple market value assets (MVA) in cybersecurity. CIPHER provides a head start on the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to thrive in this critical and ever-evolving field, all before graduating high school.

All students must meet the following requirements to apply:

Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Cumulative attendance rate of 90% or higher
Completion of one LPS Computer Science course
Must be a Junior or Senior in the fall of 2025
Must be on track to graduate
Must demonstrate some level of college coursework ability by successfully completing any AP/Dual Credit course or via College Placement test scores
Must have interest in the cyber security field
Completion of both the LPS and William Jewell College applications

LPS Early College Academy

Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to attend morning or afternoon classes on the Maple Woods campus taking college classes for both high school and college credit. These students meet the college entrance requirements for MCC and will take between 9-13 hours of college credit each semester. The majority of classes will transfer to other colleges and universities if the student chooses to continue their education at another school. An even better incentive for students and families is that Liberty Public School pays for the courses and textbooks.

Program Requirements

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Record of 90% attendance or better through high school to date
Students need a qualifying ACT scores or MCC Accuplacer test scores (ACT and MCC Accuplacer scores can be combined to qualify)
- ACT: English 18+, Reading 18+, Math 22+
- MCC Accuplacer - Must Place into the following classes: "No Reading Required," English 101, Math 115/119/120 or higher
Completion of the LPS Early College Academy application for enrollment
Completion of the MCC application for enrollment

The Accuplacer test will be on December 11th or February 9th. Students must sign up in advance. Space is limited to the first 30 students who register. The sign up link is HERE . Students will need to complete the MCC application and have an MCC student ID prior to testing.

Network 53

Network53 is a community effort created to strengthen the connection between education and industry for the benefit of all students. It is a partnership between parents, community members, educators, and area businesses who support experiential learning for students through internships, mentoring, and other career awareness activities. Students are mentored by employers in a professional setting to help teach skills that are needed for their future. Students receive their high school credit and also the option for college credit. Seniors will be given first consideration in the placement process.

Students are in good standing in their high school and on track to graduate
